The "Cobalt Companion," as we're calling it, is a beautiful one-off cherry–Micarta hybrid handmade by Chris Graffin himself. This symmetrical slingshot is appropriate for both left and right hand-holds, catering to any discerning slingshot enthusiast with its truely unique and highly ergonomic feel.

As the name suggests, the "Cobalt Companion" has been dyed with Cobalt Blue dye, resulting in an undulating, "river-like" patterning of vibrant blue caused by the higher uptake of stain by the softer sapwood. The target side of the slingshot has been laminated with 1/4" Micarta, which features alternating layers of black and olive drab green. This Micarta has been pinned onto the natural portion of the frame using two 3.5mm hollow brass pins. Additionally, for a rustic and artistic appeal, Chris has left portions of bark on the back of the handle, paying homage to the natural origin of the cherry wood from which this frame was created. This stunning slingshot proudly features the Catapult Carnage logo, which has been branded onto the shooter side of the frame.

To ensure the longevity and stability of the "Cobalt Companion," Chris has taken care to properly season the cherry fork, and further seal the finished product with his homade finish—a combination of teak oil and beeswax featured in this YouTube video. Chris' finish is particularly unique in that it seals wood while still leaving a natural wooden feel that you simply cannot achieve with a varnish or lacquer. He has applied several coats of this finish, with each coat being buffed off before reapplication.
